Musalia Mudavadi's ANC Party Unveils Team to Help Conduct Free and Fair Nominations

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has unveiled two new teams that are set to help the party conduct free and fair nominations.

Mudavadi on Tuesday launched a five-member Internal Dispute Resolution Committee (IDRC) and a 12-member National Elections Board (NEB) ahead of the upcoming party primaries.

The ANC leader announced that the two groups would now help reduce the political pressure that is expected before the primaries as various leaders seek the party's ticket.

Flanked by officials of the teams, Mudavadi assured party members that the NEB and IDRC would ensure smooth nominations and issue certificates to deserving candidates.

“I want to assure all ANC members that with these bodies, we’re now ready to conduct the nominations and it is only after the nomination exercise that a person can get a nomination certificate,” he stated.

He maintained that the party was not afraid of holding joint nominations with partners in the National Super Alliance (NASA) assuring that they would work together if the coalition decided to settle on the same.

“This team that has been appointed by the ANC will also liaise with other political parties in NASA so that in the event that there’s any need for a joint nomination somewhere then the team will be involved to ensure fairness and broad participation by all parties,” he affirmed.

He added that his party would field candidates in all regions in the country except the few areas where they agree with their counterparts to keep off.
