Mystery as 2 Acres of Marijuana is Discovered Planted on Public Land

Police have discovered a two acre plantation of bhang cleverly hidden on a piece of land along the river in Kanyikela area of Nhiwa.

The bhang is estimated to be worth Ksh1 million.

The marijuana had been planted in the middle of the farm and maize planted all around it to disguise the illegal plant.

Residents however discovered the plantation and brought it to the attention of the police.

It took the police more than three hours to destroy the plantation.

Nobody was arrested in the incident as the piece of land is registered as public property since it lies along a river.

The police, however, have pledged to interrogate the whole village to fish out the farmer.

Marijuana is classified as an illegal drug and growing it - an offence punishable by law.
