Nairobi Pastor Paul Ngure to Hold Major Crusade for Drunkards

A renowned pastor in Ongata Rongai, Nairobi on Friday announced that he would hold a major crusade for drunkards on Saturday.

Paul Ngure of the Grace Glory Ministries divulged that the crusade dubbed "Usiniite Mlevi" is meant to help them transform their lives.

"Usiniite Mlevi is a nickname I was given before getting saved because I was a drunkard. What we will do at the crusades is tell the people that alcohol is bad and help them reform," Ngure stated.

The pastor urged all drunkards in Nairobi to turn up as well as other Christians so as to unite in the fight against alcoholism.

"I decided to give my life to Jesus Christ and help all the drunkards to know God," the pastor said.

Alcohol drinking has been a menace in the country with many people losing their lives and body abilities, especially eyesight, after consumption of illicit brew.

Two months ago, a group of 50 women raided brewing dens in Kabete, Kiambu County and beat up men who were found drinking claiming they had neglected their family duties.

Last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the formation of a task force to crackdown on illicit brews in the country.
