A man said to be a politician in Naivasha was on Wednesday morning found dead under unclear circumstances.
The deceased, who locals said was popular in the area, was found dumped near Kinamba trading centre along the Naivasha-Kirima road.
According to witnesses, the politician had been spotted having drinks with some friends the previous night before heading home.
The residents, however, woke up to find his lifeless body without a clear indication of the cause of death.
However, some of those who found the body claimed that the man, who also had businesses in the area, was killed while others alleged it could be a result of a hit and run accident.
“He was well-known in the trading centre. We are worried about how he died as there was no blood spots at the scene. This would have indicated he was hit by a car,” he stated.
Confirming the incident, Naivasha sub-county commissioner Isaac Masinde said the deceased could have been involved in an accident since some reports indicate he was drunk.
He, however, refused to give the politician's name explaining that his family was yet to be informed about the incident.
