Two businessmen from Nakuru County reported to have been abducted last week Friday, were on Thursday found dead seven days after they went missing.
The duo, identified as Joseph Chege and Wachira, were kidnapped by unknown people who blocked their vehicle at Heshima along Nakuru-Nyahururu road, according to eye-witnesses.
Chege’s kin, Simon Mwangi, said the bodies of the deceased indicated that they had been tortured.
“Chege’s clothes were ripped -off and soiled, his right hand was broken and had blood all over his body while his friend Wachira’s face and stomach were burned with a corrosive substance and stabbed in the back, neck and chest”, the Standard quotes Mr Mwangi.
Reports suggest that the bodies were initially recovered by residents at Gakoe Forest in Kiambu County, and were taken to Nairobi City Mortuary where they were identified by their relatives.
However, Chege’s vehicle in which the two were driving in before being abducted, was recovered at an open field near the popular Kikopey ‘Nyama Choma’ stop-over along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
Nakuru County Police Commandant Hassan Barua, Thursday said they were not aware of the recovery of the bodies.
The family of the deceased is now reported to be living in fear following the mysterious killings of their loved ones.
