NASA Vows to Withdraw KDF Troops from Somalia Once They Ascend to Power

The National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have vowed to withdraw the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) from Somalia once they ascend to power.

The Opposition team stated that it would instead seek democratic options to deal with the Al Shabaab milia.

Speaking in Lamu, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated the continued presence of Kenyan troops in Somalia was creating unnecessary problems for the country.

“What’s our benefit as a country? Many of our soldiers are losing their lives and many are missing. Their families are in anguish and all that for what?” Kalonzo asked.

He condemned the move by the Jubilee Government to keep the troops in Somalia while their services were badly needed in the country.

The Wiper leader highlighted that President Mwai Kibaki temporarily deployed KDF to Somalia with an aim of restoring peace after which they were to come back to the country.

NASA are expected to name their presidential candidate on April 27th in a rally to be held at Uhuru Park.
