NASA's Wiper Party Offers Sonko Direct Ticket for Machakos Governorship

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko is once again the subject of heated political debate after revelations emerged on an offer allegedly made to him by the National Super Alliance (NASA) through the Wiper Party.

On Tuesday, Citizen TV reported that well-placed sources revealed that talks had been held between the controversial senator and officials of the Wiper Party.

It is alleged that the Opposition party offered Sonko a direct ticket to vie for the Machakos Governor's seat in the upcoming August polls.

The offer is believed to have been motivated by an anticipated fall-out between Sonko and the Jubilee party after the Senator claimed there were plans to sabotage his bid to be the Governor in Nairobi.

Sonko's hardline stance against fellow governorship hopeful, Peter Kenneth, has lowered the chances of a Jubilee Party win in Nairobi, a recent poll showed.

Jubilee officials are said to be in talks to foster peace and possible collaboration between the two, despite Sonko's sworn hostility toward Kenneth.

On the other hand, Wiper is looking to regain its leverage in Machakos County after Governor Mutua decamped to establish his own party - Maendeleo Chap Chap.

The Kalonzo Musyoka-led party is hoping to clinch Sonko for his political networth which places him as a favourite for many voters.

Nonetheless, Sonko insists that he will be in the Nairobi Governorship race.
