The National Super Alliance (NASA) principals have crafted a plan to martial their strongholds and win the August 8 elections by over 9 Million votes
In a document seen by the media, NASA projects that the August elections will have an estimated 85% voter turn-out in the country, totaling to an estimated 16,407,144 voters out of 19,302,522 registered voters countrywide.
According to the opposition coalition, their team would gather 55.5% of the votes which represents and estimated 9,109,344 votes as compared to Jubilee's 44.4% that amounts to 7,297,800 votes and win the election in the first round.
The plan is grounded in the belief that NASA stronghold regions Luhya Western Region, Kamba region, and Luo Nyanza region would give the coalition an estimated 5.6 Million votes. In the projection, the principals expect 2.2.Million votes from Luhya, 1.7 Million votes from Kamba and 1.7.Million from Luo.
The Alliance expects to beef up their tally in swing areas where they have projected to bag approximately 2,835,118 votes divided as Maasai (256,118), Kisii (660,000), Somali (660,000), Mijikenda (680,000), Meru (74,000), Turkana (300,000), Teso (124,000) and Kuria (81,000).
NASA further expects Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto to deliver at least 205,000 votes from Jubilee stronghold areas.
The coalition expects Nairobi to offer a heated challenge but predicts a win with a very slight margin.
The calculations compiled by NASA consultants and strategists predicts that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto would get zero votes in NASA stronghold areas.
The plan further ignores recent political defections of key coalition members to Jubilee stating that it would not impact on the presidential vote.
Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed while speaking to the Standard expressed confidence that NASA would win the elections according to their predictions.
“This time, we are ahead of them in this game. We have done our mathematics and we have the figures ready with us. Trust me, on August 8, we will have Jubilee for supper,” Junet stated.
In 2013, Opposition Leader Raila Odinga lost to Uhuru after garnering 5,340,546 against Kenyatta's 6,173,433.
