Nelson Marwa Dares Joho to Storm Another Police Station

Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa on Saturday dared Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to storm any other police station in the county after the Friday drama at Urban Police Station.

Speaking during a press conference, Mr Marwa firmly stated that his team would "deal with Joho perpendicularly".

Marwa rubbished claims that the Mombasa Governor had been detained by police stating that: "Governor Hassan Joho arrested himself."

He mentioned that the Governor was demanding the release of a suspect who had been nabbed with four guns, which according to Marwa could have been illegal. He said the suspect was a drug baron.

"This operation was carried out around the county. He is a potential suspect. The guns that were captured could have been illegal. This guy is in the hands of Government and we will continue with our investigations. He will be interrogated no matter what! We must know where he acquired the guns from. How can someone have four guns?”

"Why was the Governor so determined to rescue a drug baron who was in possession of more than three guns? What was the big agenda?" he posed.

An agitated Marwa sharply condemned Joho for causing the unwarranted tension in the county noting that: "It was wrong for Governor Joho to mobilise leaders to go to police headquarters, send messages to incite and create tension for political mileage."

Marwa accused the County boss of hiring ex-military officers adding that: "the owner of the Nyali gunshop is the director of Mombasa County Inspectorate, who has been hiring ex-military personnel."

The regional coordinator further remarked that the Government would not be intimidated by the Governor.

Tension were rife in Mombasa after Governor Joho was allegedly arrested after storming the Urban Police Station demanding the release of his friend.
