New Revelations on GSU Lorry Caught Ferrying Illegal Ethiopians

The police lorry siezed while transporting 80 illegal Ethiopian immigrants was taken without permision from the police station in Sololo, Marsabit.

This is according to Marsabit County commissioner Peter Thuku.

He said that the vehicle belonged to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit, and had not been approved to leave the station.

He was speaking to Nairobi News where he clarified that the driver of the lorry who fled the scene was not a police officer.

He added that the official driver of the lorry is on leave.

This comes even as a sergent from Sololo was arrested on claims that he was involved in the transportation of the immigrants.

Sergeant William Kipchirchir is said to have gotten a civilian to drive the vehicle.

He denied the charge and will remain in police custody until August 21.

The vehicle was intercepted at Kangeta, Meru after the police were tiped off.
