Nominated Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Mwaura survived an alleged assassination attempt on Tuesday evening in Ruiru after his car was shot at by unknown people.
He suffered injuries on his ear and was rushed to hospital after his car was sprayed with bullets.
The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politician reported the matter at Ruiru Police Station and took to social media to condemn a political rival for being behind the attack.
Mwaura, who is vying for the Ruiru parliamentary seat in the forthcoming elections, defected to Jubilee Party in 2016 after what he termed as “extensive consultation” with the people of Ruiru.
This incident has occurred barely a day after another politician allied to Jubilee, Kennedy Kinyanjui Kabaka was reported missing at Githunguri police station on Monday night by a boda-boda rider who found his car abandoned by the roadside.
