Nomiya Church to Expel Members who Visited Uhuru Kenyatta at State House

The Nomiya Church Kenya leadership has threatened to expel a section of its members who visited and endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta last week.

Assistant Archbishop Rev Jared Gondi, while conducting a church service in Bondo, stated that the church would hold a Synod Conference to discuss the action to be taken against their members who colluded with "imposters" and visited the President without consent.

The Archbishop stated that Nomiya leadership might excommunicate such members so they can join other churches that allow such misconduct.

Rev Gondi further stated that the church would wish the National Super Alliance (NASA) flag-bearer, Raila Odinga, to win the 2017 General Election.

Last week on Tuesday, President Kenyatta hosted a group of faithful believed to be members of the Nomiya Church at State House, Nairobi.

In an interesting twist, however, the church's Archbishop Moses Okech distanced the church from the group that had come from the Nyanza region, terming them a bunch of imposters.

"The Nomiya Church Synod wishes to clarify that the group of imposters who visited State House yesterday allegedly to endorse Uhuru Kenyatta for the Presidency neither constitute the leadership of the Church nor represent the views of the Nomiya Church Fraternity," Okech stated.

Archbishop Okech added that Caleb Olali who led the delegation did not hold any position in the church hierarchy as he was the Bona-fide leader of the congregation.

The group hosted at State House assured the President of their support, noting that his leadership had fostered development in the Nyanza region and beyond. They also invited him to visit their congregation.

The Head of State on his part urged the group and other religious leaders to help in preaching peace and unity.
