Notorious 'KDF' Gangsters Shot Dead

Three suspected gangsters attached to a gang identifying itself as 'KDF' were on Friday shot dead in Umoja, Nairobi.

Police recovered pistols, electronic equipment and foreign currency from the slain suspects believed to have been terrorising local residents for a while.

The gangsters are linked to high profile robberies that involved property worth millions of shillings and raping of women.

Confirming the incident, Buruburu Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Richard Kerich said that the felled suspects were in a group of five when they were killed.

Kerich said that after being busted, the gang declined to surrender prompting a fierce shoot.

"Our officers managed to shoot three of them  while two managed to escape," said Kerich.

One of the robbers was identified as Alfred Mbugua Waithaka, a 23-year old from Starehe, Nairobi.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the two escapees.
