The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Thursday published names of 39 motorists who are supposed to be arrested for failing to appear in court.
The drivers, who are mostly from Nairobi and Eldoret, were found culpable of driving under the influence of alcohol but failed to appear in court.
Confirming the incident, NTSA acting Director of Road Safety John Muya, stated that warrants of arrest have been issued by courts after they failed to appear and answer to the charges.
“These are offenders who paid cash bails and were supposed to attend court on a certain day but failed to do so. Normally, those arrested between Friday and Sunday pay cash bail and are given a date to appear in court,” Mr Muya said.
