Obama Dines With Extended Family After Arrival

US President Barrack Obama dined with his family yesterday night after arriving into the country.

His half sister, Auma Obama and grandmother Sarah Obama, joined extended family at his Nairobi hotel for a meal.

Obama chatted amiably with the large family seated at long tables at a restaurant inside the hotel.

Due to logistics, Obama will not be able to travel to his ancestral home in Kogelo.

Kogelo residents, who consider Obama their pride and joy, had been hopeful that he would visit the village.

Instead, Mama Sarah and other relatives traveled to Nairobi to accompany the president on his official trip to Kenya.

He last visited Kogelo in 2006 when he was a senator.

It his his first visit in the country as US president.
