Obama's Security Team at State House Nairobi

No State House staff will be allowed in and out of the premises starting today morning.

This is in a bid to ensure that no security measure is left to chance as US President Barack Obama visits Kenya from tomorrow.

According to a Star report, staff who work or individuals who reside at State House will not be allowed in or out of the premises until Sunday evening.

Sources who spoke to the paper indicated that they were informed early enough to alert their families that, starting Thursday, there will be restricted movement into and out of the premises.

Those officers who work at State House but reside outside the facility have reportedly been asked to stay away for the time being.

Security sweeps have also been done in all houses within the facility, with extra reinforcements being installed at the State House main gates.

The source further noted that some of Obama's security staff have been accommodated at the guest houses in State House grounds.

The Obama security team is said to have taken control of the CCTV room to monitor all entry and exit points manned by the GSU.

This comes as one of the many security measures that have been put in place for the safety of the President of the most powerful state in the world.

Transport in major city roads will also be interrupted from tomorrow 2pm.

Major roads leading to the Central Business District such as Mombasa road, Uhuru highway and Waiyaki way will be shut down from the public from Friday 2pm-9pm.

Thika Superhighway, Limuru road, Waiyaki way, Haille Sellasie avenue will be closed down on Saturday.

Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes or stay at home.
