OCS Accidentally Shot by Fellow Police

Tragedy struck Nyandarua County after an officer was shot by a colleague in a case of mistaken identity.

Ndaragwa Police Station OCS Harun Mwangombe met his death while on duty, when an Administration Police officer shot him in the stomach.

Mwangobe and his team were on a stake out searching for a carjacking cartel along the Ndaragwa-Nyahururu road.

Unknown to them, officers attached to the Ndaragwa AP post had also planned an ambush on the same criminals.

The Standard reports that a gun fight ensued when the administration police from Ndaragwa mistook the OCS and his team for the criminals.

In the confusion a police officer shot the OCS in the stomach.

When the officers finally figured out they were shooting at police officers, Mwangombe was rushed to Nyahururu Charity Medical clinic.

An attempt to remove the bullets from his body proved futile and the doctors recommended he be taken to Kenyatta National Hospital.

He died on the way.
