ODM Appeals Tribunal Adjourns Sitting After Goons Disrupted Proceedings

The Orange Democratic  Movement (ODM) Appeals Tribunal was on Monday morning forced to suspend its sitting at Mash Park hotel in Nairobi after goons wearing black suits disrupted the proceedings.

The 'men in black' stormed the tribunal's office in the Ngong Road-based hotel beating up some politicians that had challenged the outcome of the primaries.

The members of the tribunal had to be whisked away to safety during the incident as the goons had also threatened to attack them if they continued with the proceedings.

According to the Tribunal chairperson, Willis Otieno, they had to suspend the sitting due to security fears, adding that the tribunal would not hold any sitting until further notice.

The tribunal had been mandated by the ODM National Elections Board to resolve disputes from the just concluded party primaries that were tightly contested.
