ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga Cancels Press Briefing at the Last Minute

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga made a last-minute cancellation to a planned press briefing at his Capitol Hill offices on Tuesday.

In what appeared to be a rushed decision, his contact persons alerted the press that the briefing was allegedly cancelled following an invitation to a Saturday morning consultative meeting with the Independent Electoral and Bounderies Commission (IEBC).

The contact persons conveyed that they had just received correspondence from the IEBC and they hinted that the letter had played a role in the change of plans.

Details on the agenda of the consultative meeting are yet to be divulged, however, many deduce that the proposed parallel tallying centre will be high on the list.

Expectations for the press briefing were high as members of the public anticipated the former Prime Minister to comment on yesterday's chaotic ODM rally involving Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) Co-Principal was also expected to comment on the retreat he and fellow co-principals are scheduled to go on, from Friday of this week.

The briefing was not scheduled for a later date.
