Passenger Kills Driver Along Kangundo Road

A passenger on Thursday night turned his anger on a private car driver shooting him dead along Kangundo road in Nairobi.

The suspect is said to have been riding on a motorbike when he got into an argument with the motorist who was driving a Toyota Stage Wagon car.

According to witnesses, the argument got worse and the passenger pulled out a pistol shooting the driver who died on the spot.

Police, who were alerted about the shooting, confirmed the incident adding that the unidentified body was taken to Kenyatta University mortuary.

“It was reported by members of the public that a driver of a Toyota corolla station wagon has been shot dead by two men on a motorbike.

“It was established that the deceased had an argument with the said men and the pillion passenger drew a pistol and shot the victim in the chest,” the police affirmed.

Last year, a similar incident was witnessed after a passenger shot and killed a conductor before shooting four other people at the Odeon Bus terminus.

During the incident, three men boarded a Star Bus Company matatu, took the rear seat and shortly after, two of them began roughing up their colleague.

On seeing the unfolding spectacle, the bus driver ordered the conductor to kick out the three suspects.

However, one of the men drew his gun and shot the tout on the chest and the driver on the forehead before turning on two passengers.
