Peter Kenneth Says He Has No Apology to President Uhuru Kenyatta Over 2013 Elections

Former Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Kenneth has stated that he will not issue an apology to President Uhuru Kenyatta for going against him in the 2013 Presidential elections because “competition is not enmity.”

He, however, reiterated his support for the President in the forthcoming elections and pledged his full backing.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko had accused Kenneth of failing to back Kenyatta in 2013 and demanded an apology.

Kenneth was speaking during an exclusive interview with Capital TV where he laid out his strategy for the city.

He mentioned his plan to decongest Nairobi and ensure it was clean, through efficient ways of waste management.

The former Kenya-Re manager also launched a scathing attack at Governor Evans Kidero saying he is clueless and has failed in his role of leading Nairobi County.

Kenneth pointed out a particular scenario when Governor Kidero went to give waivers to Jua Kali artisans dressed in a full suit, which showed his extent of naivety in terms of dealing with the common mwananchi.

He also stated that Kidero had disappointed many city dwellers and had nothing to show for his tenure.

When asked whether he had sent envoys to Kenyatta to seek backing in the Jubilee Party nominations, he expressed his surprise and said it was up to the people to decide.

He further said that his academic records were there for all to see, in response to Sonko’s claims that he scored E’s.

Kenneth also gave his opinion on the recently released poll results that ranked him third in the race for Nairobi governorship.

He stated that the results would push him to work harder and he believed his ratings would go higher since he only announced his candidature a few moths ago.
