PHOTOS: Scenes at Milimani Law Courts

Heavy security was on Friday morning deployed at Milimani Law Courts where eight politicians were set to be charged for allegedly spewing hateful remarks.

A crowd of supporters thronged outside the courts where they were denied access with no explanation.

A section of the public who had morning cases expressed concerns as they were running late for the hearings. 

The eight alleged hatemongers were ferried to court in the cover of darkness on Friday morning under tight security.

The leaders who include; Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati), Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, Suna East MP Junet MohamedTimothy Bosire of Kitutu Masaba, Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua and her Kilifi counterpart Aisha Jumwa, have been in police custody for the past three days.

The legislators took to the stand at 9.30am.
