Vihiga County Government has shared images on social media showing Governor Moses Akaranga officially opening a mud house for a resident in Hamisi Sub-County.
The photo which was posted on the Vihiga County Facebook page, showed Akaranga with a resident in a reconstructed mud house.
The Governor, who had promised residents of Vihiga in his manifesto to fix their housing conditions, was on Monday morning opening one of the 45 mud houses said to have been reconstructed due to their deplorable conditions.
The County Government together with the department of Lands and Housing, started the Social Housing Scheme which sought to reconstruct close to 255 deplorable houses for the poor residents.
Each ward is expected to have nine beneficiaries as 45 units have already been completed.
