PHOTOS: These Surgeons Removed Knife From Ms Ibrahim's Cheek

A team of 5 surgeons at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been hailed for successfully dislodging a knife stuck in Ms Fatuma Ibrahim's cheek.

The team conducted a one hour operation on Thursday night to remove the knife which had stayed in the woman's body close to a day.

Confirming success of the operation, KNH CEO Lily Koros said that she spent time with Fatuma throughout the operation and assured that she was recuperating at the hospital.

Dr. Edwin Rono, who led the surgery team said that they would not allow visitors until next week and that Ms Ibrahim would remain in hospital for a further 5 days.

Fatuma was allegedly attacked by her husband, Mohamed Deeq on Wednesday night who stabbed her severally before being rescued by neighbours. She was taken to Wajir District Hospital where doctors declined to remove the knife owing to the danger it posed.
