Police in Nairobi are looking for a ten man gang that has been terrorizing residents of Kerarapon near Nairobi’s Karen estate.
The gang is believed to be behind the recent wave of robbery that has been witnessed in the area.
Residents say they are now living in fear after several people reported being robbed at gun point by the daring gang.
On Tuesday, the gang attacked four guards, tied them up and relieved them of their uniforms then took their place.
The Nation reports that they proceeded to rob residents making their way inside and getting out of the estate.
Part of the gang is said to have hit several houses, making away with thousands worth of electronics.
The gang shot a caretaker several times during the incident. He succumbed to the injuries at Kenyatta National Hospital on Friday.
Kerarapon residents have complained of the slow response by the police officers.
They have identified Kibigo and Kerarapon forests as the hiding grounds for the thugs.
Ngong OCPD, George Seda confirmed that they had conducted a search in the forests but could not find the thieves.
They however recovered several electronics believed to have been dropped while the men made their escape.
Inspector general of police Joseph Boinett assured residents that a man hunt was ongoing and that security had been beefed up.
