Police Launch Man Hunt for Kipchirchir Alfie

Police have launched a manhunt for a man purporting to be an armed officer, who vowed to kill Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo and equally threatened Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet refuted the notion that the suspect, who identifies himself as Kipchirchir Alfie, was a police officer.

According to Boinnet, the authorities were seeking information to help arrest the imposter, who has been posting alarming messages on Facebook.

“He claims to be a police officer but he is not. We are looking for him and we urge anyone who knows him to help us know where he is,” stated Boinnet.

Officers close to the investigation stated that a special team had been formed to hunt for the suspect who claims to be armed with a pistol and bullets.

The authorities are said to be cautious to avoid any blame in case anything happens at a time when the State has withdrawn the security detail of Joho, who Kipchirchir has threatened.

“Now that they have taken away security for the governors and the man is threatening them anything can happen and if it happens the buck stops at police authorities,” divulged an officer privy to the matter.

In December, the imposter who according to his Facebook timeline claims to have worked in the Presidential Escort Unit vowed to kill Ms Odhiambo and Suna-East lawmaker Junet Mohamed.

At that time, he posted the photos of a pistol and ammunition stating that three bullets were meant for Mohamed and the rest (32) for the Mbita MP.

Over the weekend, the same suspect posted another startling message this time directed towards Joho and Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi who have constantly differed with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
