Police Officers Lose Job After Blocking Uhuru

Two police officers from Makupa Police Station, Mombasa County, were relieved from their duty after blocking President Uhuru Kenyatta's motorcade with a police vehicle.

The duo, Corporal Barnaba Rutto and police Constable Joel Atuti stated that they were on normal duty when they found a matatu being driven recklessly

They decided to park infront of the vehcicle so that they could arrest the driver oblivious to the fact that the President's motorcade was passing on the particular route.

When the president arrived the two were ordered to remove their car and arrested on the spot.

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet confirmed the details but dismissed allegations that the Presidential escort mistreated the officers during the arrest.

"There are two officers who have been recommended for dismissal and they know it. We do not mistreat anybody we put them under proper diciplinary process." Boinnet stated.
