Pope Francis 'Endorses' Uhuru's Party

  • A tweet by Pope Francis on Wednesday sparked interesting speculations among Kenyans on social media.

About 15 minutes after the Papal tweeted: 'The Jubilee is the party to which Jesus invites us all, without excluding anyone,' a section of the public jokingly took the tweet as an endorsement of President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.

Some tweeps dragged CORD leader Raila Odinga's name stating that he was also invited to Kenya's Jubilee Party.

Others pointed out that the Holy Father's statement was a blow to the Opposition as he had publicly 'declared' support for the ruling coalition.

The tweet, which was in reference to the Holy Year of Mercy, was retweeted by some of Jubilee leaders including Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja.

The Kenyan media was also jeered for not broadcasting the 'news' on Pope Francis' support for Kenya's Jubilee Party

    Here are the reactions:

CORD will say Jubilee bribed Pope to tweet. Paid tweets!. https://t.co/1xfGHKv2yx
