President Uhuru's Plaque for the Mombasa Buxton Footbridge Vandalized

A plaque that President Uhuru Kenyatta placed during the launch of the Buxton Footbridge in Mombasa has been vandalised by unknown goons.

The incident became apparent after social media users shared photos of the defaced plaque varied reactions online.

This will be the second time that the project is eliciting trouble.

Earlier in the year, the President was the subject of an online hashtag meant to ridicule his perceived indulgence in commissioning of what some thought to be petty projects.

While launching this controversial project, the President’s communication team captioned it as the “Buxton Footbridge Non-Motorised Transport Project".

The big words did not go well with Kenyans who responded with the notorious Uhuru challenge that was reported by major international media houses including the BBC, AlJazeera, and AFP.
