Prisons Recruitment Rejects Good Academic Performers

Youth in Kakamega County who scored a minimum of C+ and above in KCSE examinations had no place in the just concluded recruitment for prison warders.

In an ironic twist, those who had attained the minimum entry grade for universities and colleges were turned away because recruiting officers felt the candidates had better chances of joining institutions of higher learning.

The recruitment exercise which took place at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega had been attended by a large number of youth, many of whom had not been accepted in the police recruitment which took place before.

By the end of the day, 48 men and 12 women had been picked.

Recruiting officers urged those who did not make it to try their luck in the next recruitment.
