Process of Naming NASA Flagbearer Going on Smoothly - Mudavadi Announces

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, who is one of the principals in the National Super Alliance (NASA), has announced that the Alliance is making important progress towards naming its flagbearer for August 8 General Election.

Speaking in Mombasa County, Mudavadi stated that the process of identifying a single candidate was going on smoothly adding that the flagbearer would soon be named.

Mudavadi noted that all the processes agreed upon by him and other principals – ODM's Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper) – were going on well as per the timelines set.

Though he did not give finer details, the ANC leader added that the discussions of coming up with the torchbearer had made progress assuring that the Alliance would meet all the deadlines regarding the matter.

He added that the process of choosing the NASA candidate would be done in an inclusive way, indicating that the Alliance seeks to have a national outlook which would ensure integration and cohesion.

Mudavadi was speaking at the Serena Beach Hotel during the start of his two-day tour of the Coastal region where he is set to hold several meetings and rallies to popularise his party.

The four NASA leaders, two weeks ago signed a coalition pact that they said would ensure they remain united in their attempt to beat incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming polls.

However, they have kept their supporters waiting for who among them will be the Alliance's head as they all seek to clinch the coveted presidential ticket.
