Protesters Raid Lead Factory, Demanding It's Closure

Over 200 protesters raided a lead factory in Naivasha demanding that the factory be closed for fear of lead poisoning.

The youth vandalized property, some escaping with with over KSh1 million in cash, laptops, gas cylinders and other office equipment.

The protesters claim that the company, Ganesh Eco Solutions Company could lead to the death of residents living near the company.

Police officers had to be called in to prevent further vandalism and managed to arrest three suspects and recover one laptop.

Former Naivasha MP John Mututho had threatened to go to court to have the factory closed claiming that an environmental impact assessment done by the National Environment Management Authority wasn’t accurate.
