Raila Meets with Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto

CORD leader Raila Odinga on Saturday morning visited Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto for a private meeting where they discussed a wide range of issues.

The two took to social media posting photos of the meeting which was held at Ruto's Chepalungu home.

According to Odinga, they discussed several issues especially those revolving around the current political situation in the country.

“I paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Bomet H. E Isaac Ruto at his home in Chepalungu where we discussed a wide range of issues including the current political landscape in Kenya,” the Opposition chief posted on Facebook.

On the other hand, Ruto stated that the meeting was convened to speak on matters of national interest, particularly that of devolution.

“At home with former PM Raila Odinga when he dropped by to say jambo. Discussed issues of national interest and especially devolution,” he tweeted.

The discussions revived recent speculations of formation of a super alliance that would include the Governor and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

The two, political analysts opined, would be instrumental in wooing the vote rich Rift Valley region to back the Opposition in the 2017 General Election.

It was however, unclear whether formation of the alliance was part of their agenda, and the exact details of the political talk they engaged in.
