Raila Vows to Storm Police Station After Joho Arrest

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders led by Raila Odinga have threatened to take the police head on, should they arrest Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Speaking after Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery warned that he would arrest and jail the Mombasa Governor, the Opposition leaders threatened to storm the police station where Joho would be detained.

"Nkaissery has crossed the red line. Let him try and intimidate Joho. He has added salt to injury. I told him to go slowly on certain issues but he did not listen," Odinga warned.

During an address after a thwarted meeting at the IEBC offices on Tuesday, Odinga stated that Joho's rights were protected in the constitution hence CS Nkaissery should not exercise intimidation.

On his part, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka stated: "When Joho is arrested we will storm that particular police station and remove him from that place".

Joho, who was also present, dared the Interior CS to go ahead and make good his threat.

"I have done nothing. They should not look for me, let them tell me which police station to report to and I shall be there," Joho posed.

Appearing before a Senate Committee early Tuesday, Retired Major General Nkaissery asserted that Joho could only appeal the decision to surrender his guns after returning them.
