PHOTOS: Raila's Car Hit During IEBC Protests

The vehicle of CORD leader Raila Odinga was Monday hit amid protests against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in Nairobi.

In photos shared widely on social media, the vehicle was partially damaged using an object that left a dent on the windscreen.

According to Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango, the car was hit by a bullet that was fired while the Opposition leader was in the car.

However, other reports indicate that the former Prime Minister's vehicle was hit by a stone hurled by one of the protestors.

ODM Communications Director Philip Etale said: “below is my boss Raila Odinga's vehicle which was hit at today as they went to the IEBC offices”.

Meanwhile, police lobbed tear gas to disperse CORD leaders and supporters who for the third time had camped outside Anniversary Towers.

Politicians affiliated to KANU led by the party's Secretary General Nick Salat also joined in the anti-IEBC protests.

In a statement released after the protests, Odinga indicated that they would still continue pushing for the disbandment of the current electoral body.

"Despite the use of unwarranted force by the police, our constitutionally guaranteed and peaceful pickets shall continue next Monday and every Monday thereafter until the IEBC is reconstituted," Odinga's statement read in part.
