Raphael Wanjala Blames DP Ruto After Ditching Jubilee

A former Budalangi Member of Parliament (MP), who has in past been close to President Uhuru Kenyatta's government has ditched Jubilee party for ODM.

Raphael Wanjala announced that he was forced to abandon Jubilee following a decision by Deputy President Wiliam Ruto to overlook him and instead work with MP Ababu Namwamba.

According to Wanjala, Ruto ignored him despite his longtime support for the government and instead got cozy with Namwamba who is a member of a different party.

Addressing his supporters at Port Victoria County hall, Wanjala stated that he would meet with ODM leader Raila Odinga to be officially welcomed into the party.

He added that he would now vie for Budalangi parliamentary seat as he seeks to dethrone Namwamba who he said had not developed the constituency.

At the same time, he warned President Kenyatta to be wary of his deputy claiming that he would cause more defections from the Jubilee.

"I want to tell Uhuru that it is not Budalang'i alone; the situation is bad and he should be prepared for more defections by politicians allied to Jubilee," stated the former MP.
