Respect the Prime Minister, Raila Tells Rotich

CORD leader Raila Odinga has responded to Treasury Cabinet Secretary (CS) Henry Rotich's invitation to be briefed on the contentious spending of Eurobond money.

Addressing Orange Democratic Movement officials at Sony Green Stadium in Migori County, Raila said that he would never step into Rotich's office for any briefing.

He further added that he was too senior to be invited by a Cabinet Secretary, urging Rotich to respect his stature and go to his office instead.

“He cannot invite a Prime Minister to his office…he should be the one coming to my office with his documents,” said Raila.

Rotich's invitation to Odinga came after the former Premier addressed a letter to the CS demanding disclosure of details on how the EuroBond proceeds were used.

In his letter, Odinga cited misappropriation of the money, vowing that he would never rest until the unprecedented levels of corruption in the government were addressed.

“The throats of some Government operatives were now choking with the loots because they have eaten more than they could chew. I will keep the Jubilee administration on its toes until the day they will start becoming accountable to Kenyans,” read the letter in part.

The government has come under immense pressure to specify the projects that were funded using the Sh275 Billion EuroBond money.
