Retired President Moi And Son To Appear in Court

Retired President Daniel Moi and his son Senator Gideon Moi have been summoned to appear in court over the expulsion of five students from one of the schools they own.

The two are expected to appear in court for the ongoing case alongside other members of the board of trustees.

The five girls had allegedly been expelled on March 21 from Sacho High School in Nakuru county for gross indiscipline.

Citing unfairness, the parents to the students moved to court challenging the expulsion.

According to The Star, school  Principal Richard Mondi had previously been ordered by the court to readmit the students.

He however did not comply, allegedly saying that the students could not be readmitted to the school as as it would put the school's integrity as a well-performing institution with high moral discipline at stake.

Mondi now faces charges for contempt of court as a result.

Last week, the principal had applied for the presiding judge Justice Abigail Mshila to rescue herself from the case, alleging that she is biased.

Justice  Mshila on the other hand, said that the school had failed to demonstrate how i would be affected if the students were readmitted to the school.

She ruled that that the school's board be present for the hearing of the case set for July 14 this year.
