Sauti Sol To Perform Alongside Beyonce at UN Festival

Kenya Boy Band Sauti Sol are going against all odds in their musical journey. The award winning group is expected to share a stage with the likes of Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and Pearl Jam at the Global Citizen Festival in New York on Saturday.

The festival is expected to begin after the notable signing of the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development by 193 world leaders at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The hit makers could not hide their joy as they shared this information on twitter quoting that their dreams were valid. Sauti Sol posted an image of the prepared stage then wrote : “True story! History being made today by #TeamKenya #TeamAfrica. Welcome to the global stage where Africa will be represented!”

The group traveled to New York on Wednesday in preparation for the festival. They performed at an exclusive dinner hosted by Sir Richard Branson who is a renowned businessman and a dollar Billionare.

Arguably the most successful music group from Kenya, Sauti Sol has rubbed shoulders with high ranking dignitaries, from US President Barrack Obama to Richard Branson and on Saturday, they perform for world leaders.

It is also noted that a picture of the band together with President Obama while in Kenya is hanging at the White House.
