See How Najib Balala Enjoys His Life as Tourism Cabinet Secretary

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has to be one of the ministers who truly enjoy their job, considering the fun activities that accompany his duty.

Mr Balala has been involved in an array of lavish activities including skydiving, water-sliding among others in a bid to put Kenya on the map as the best tourism destination.

Spending most of his time at the Kenyan Coast, which hosts thousands of tourists, Balala gets time away from the busy and serious life of suit&tie and issuing important statements that affect the country.

In January, Balala launched the PrideInn Paradise Hotel in Shanzu Mombasa North estimated to cost a whopping Sh3 Billion.

During the opening, a fun-loving Balala made a 10,000ft jump from a plane together with the hotel's Managing Director Hasnain Noorani and General Manager Imtyaz Mirza. He also enjoyed the hotel's waterslide.

Last year, the former ODM politician, made an 11,000ft jump at the Watamu Marine Park, where he released rehabilitated turtles into the Indian Ocean.

After his jump, he said: "It was fun. Definitely, I was scared. To jump from 11,000 feet is not easy but I wanted to do something for Watamu and I took the risk. On New Year’s Eve, I said that I would do skydiving and here I am.

“This is an indication that Kenya has so much to offer than the beautiful beaches and safaris. We have other events like scuba diving and kite surfing that can also attract many visitors to Kenya," he added.
