Senator and 3 MPs To Be Grilled Over the Nadome Killings

West Pokot Senator and three Members of Parliament from the North Rift region are today Tuesday, set for grilling over the wave of banditry attacks that have hit their political backyards.

Senator John Lonyangapuo together with Tiati MP Asman Kamama, Kapenguria MP Samwel Moroto and Samburu North MP Alois Lentoimanga were last week summoned by officers from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi.

The four were supposed to appear before DCI last Friday but requested to report today, The Star reports.

According The Standard Internal Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaiserry had on Thursday 7, alleged that the attacks may have been politically instigated warning that politicians found to have incited the Turkana-Pokot conflict would be arrested and prosecuted.

Armed bandits launched an attack that lasted for two days on May 3, 2015 in the Nadome village claiming over 50 lives.

The government has since launched launched a major disarmament programme aimed at mopping guns in the troubled Baringo, West Pokot and Turkana counties.
