Senator Emma Mbura Writes Letter Thanking Uhuru for Her Nomination

Nominated Senator Emma Mbura on Wednesday penned a long and emotional letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta, just a day after ditching the Jubilee Party.

Mbura, who was nominated by Jubilee after the 2013 Election wrote the missive thanking President Kenyatta for having given her a chance to serve in the August House.

She divulged that the Head of State had personally moulded and helped her make an impact in championing the interests of women and empowering them.

“You noticed my leadership capacity as a strong community mobilizer and personally took my hand to mentor me, mould me and build my leadership capacity to national status,” she stated.

The Senator went ahead to list 11 activities and things she had achieved while serving in her capacity as a representative of the Coastal region.

Despite jumping ship to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC), Mbura swore that she would never disrespect President Kenyatta as a show of gratitude.

“Your Excellency, I do solemnly and sincerely affirm to you that no day anywhere will I insult my President or Jubilee Party in any platform as you have collectively made me who I am today,” she promised.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Ms Mbura explained that she had decided to quit Jubilee in her pursuit for the Rabai Parliamentary seat because there was no democracy in the party.

“I moved because there was no democracy in Jubilee's Kilifi branch and some leaders exercise a divide and rule method. They have now endorsed an ODM aspirant to face me in the nomination and I feel they will rig me out,” she divulged.

She added that she chose to move to MCC due to governor Mutua's development record hence the two would work together in serving their constituents.
