Drama ensued in Kakamega County after a man believed to have been died and buried 25 years ago was arrested for allegedly stealing chicken and utensils.
Kennedy Matayo was allegedly arrested in 1990 for sodomizing a minor before killing and burying him.
He was later released from custody on bond.
His family claims that he was found dead a while later and was buried in Kakamega.
According to Citizen, area Chief Samuel Sechero confirmed the 1990 arrest and release of Matayo.
The suspect however claims that he did not die, but just relocated to Kitale.
Family and neighbors say he cannot be accepted back into the community until a cleansing ceremony is performed.
Relatives continue investigating the curious matter.
