Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has exposed what he claims is a plan to lock him out of Jubilee Party nominations for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
Sonko claimed that there was a deliberate plan by the Criminal Investigation Department to delay the process of issuing him with a Certificate of Good Conduct, which is one of the requirements being demanded by the Party.
In an interview with the Standard, the Senator alleged that a senior official in President Uhuru Kenyatta's office was behind the plan which would ensure he fails to present his papers by the Friday deadline and thus lock him out of the primaries.
"There is a senior official at the Office of the President who is behind all this; I am told the system and some top party officials have plotted to lock me out of the JP nomination," he revealed.
The Senator divulged that he applied for the certificate more than a week ago but the police were yet to respond to him.
He further raised suspicion on why Jubilee was also demanding that he presents his original KCSE certificate.
He maintained that there were officials at the party who intended to frustrate his governorship bid adding that he would report the matter to Mr Kenyatta.
"I know some people are hell bent to block me from contesting and I will be reaching to the President to register my frustrations," he asserted.
Jubilee aspirants have until the end of Friday to present their documents and pick nomination papers failure to which they will not participate in the April primaries.
