Sonko Submits Nomination Papers at Jubilee Headquarters

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko brought the Thika Super Highway to a standstill as he made his way towards Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani to present his gubernatorial nomination papers.

Sonko was riding on the roof of his top-of-the-range vehicle as it snaked through a mammoth crowd that waved at him along the road.

Hundreds of supporters and bodaboda operators followed closely with some clinging to his vehicle while others cheered shouting his name.

The supporters camped outside the Jubilee offices which are adjacent the road, disrupting traffic and causing a huge snarl up along the busy Highway.

This forced police officers to intervene as they had a hard time controlling the huge crowd.

The Senator was accompanied by former Starehe Member of Parliament Margaret Wanjiru, nominated MP Johnson Sakaja and his Dagoretti South counterpart Dennis Waweru who also presented his papers for the same seat.

Addressing the followers who had completely barricaded the Pangani flyover, Sonko urged them to be peaceful and avoid engaging in any confrontations as he submits his papers to the Party.
