State House Trespasser found Murdered

The handcart pusher who sneaked into State House in March has been confirmed to be the murdered man whose body was found on April 7.

Police took close to three weeks to identify the body as that of William Ngene Njuguna whose family said they were not aware of his whereabouts.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations at Parliament on Tuesday recorded statements from his parents and the local leaders at his home in Kirigu village, Matuini in Dagoretti.

Ngene was arrested last month after he jumped two fences to get into State House and started walking around before he was arrested by General Service Unit officers who handed him to the Anti-Terrorism Police.

He appeared before Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogemba and was charged with entering a protected area without permission which he said he did out of curiosity.

“Your honour, I have never been to State House. I only see it on pictures and TV. I have seen all beautiful buildings in the city. I was curious," Ngene told the judge
