Stay Away From Jubilee Primaries - Alfred Keter Tells DP Ruto

Nandi Hills Member of Parliament (MP) Alfred Keter on Saturday told Deputy President William Ruto to stay away from Jubilee Party primaries at the ward, constituency and county levels ahead of the General Election.

Speaking during a public rally at Kesses in Uasin Gishu during President Uhuru Kenyatta's trip in Rift valley, Keter stated that leaders in the Rift Valley region would be able to handle the party primaries on the ground.

“I would like to inform the DP and the President to stay away from the party nominations on the ground... We need to be left to battle it out amongst ourselves.''

“Issues of Uasin Gishu, Nandi Hills and Kapseret should be left to Governor Jackson Mandago, myself and Oscar Sudi. We will deal with the nomination processes competitively and bring out the candidates preferred by the electorate,” Keter affirmed.

The Nandi legislator maintained that he was still in Jubilee after recent reports emerged claiming that he had defected to another party.

Meanwhile, during the tour, the DP denied Keter an opportunity to address the public for his criticism of the Jubilee administration.

The Head of State and his deputy have in the recent past maintained that Jubilee nominations will be free and fair.

The ruling coalition announced that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will conduct their party primaries.
