Stop Party Hopping - MP Washiali Tells Musalia Mudavadi

Mumias East Member of Parliament Benjamin Washiali (MP) on Wednesday warned ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi to stop hopping from one party to another.

Speaking on a radio show, Washiali stated that Mudavadi had a habit of ditching parties at the last minute towards the General Election which was confusing his supporters.

The legislator added that Mudavadi would suffer dearly if he continued with his style of “reverse politics” in 2017 Elections.

"My brother Mudavadi needs to understand that he has staunch followers trailing him. His character of moving from one party to another is becoming challenging to these followers," said the MP.

Washiali cited the example of the 2002 Elections where Mudavadi ditched KANU to join NARC in a bid to unseat former President Daniel Moi but reversed to KANU at the eleventh hour.

"He reversed back to KANU at the 11th hour when everybody was sure he was vying on a NARC ticket to unseat the then President Daniel Moi," he said.

In the 2013 elections, Mudavadi was in Raila Odinga's ODM party before he ditched it at the last minute and vied for Presidency on a UDF ticket.

Washiali's sentiments come a day after Odinga and Musalia announced that they would form a super alliance in February 2017 to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speculations are rife that Mudavadi, Odinga and other members will dissolve their parties and form NASA – the National Super Alliance which they believe will send Jubilee home.

The Mumias East MP was elected on a UDF ticket in 2013 elections and recently dissolved to join Jubilee after Mudavadi again shifted from the party and formed ANC.
