A mother in Murang'a county could not hide her pain on Monday after receiving information that her daughter had been assaulted by a teacher.
The Geography teacher at Gatanga girls secondary school is said to have strangled the form one girl for failing to complete her assignment, prompting her parents to storm the school.
The girl who bore scratch marks on her cheeks is alleged to have been strangled and bitten by the teacher.
According the school Principal Angeline Kuria the school administration was in the process of getting to the bottom of the matter before the girls parents stormed the school, but the girl’s parents insist that the school wanted to cover up the matter.
The teacher is yet to be arrested.
