Teenage Girl in Court on Suspicion of Terrorism

 A 16 year old girl has been arraigned in court over allegations of being linked to terrorism.

The court heard that for the period she went missing, the teenager had been a student at Precious Blood Kagwe High School until she went missing in 2014.

She resurfaced early this year when she was arrested.

The prosecution asserts that the girl had been in Somalia where she was radicalized but the suspect denied the allegations.

Also charged in the same case, was an older woman accused of using her business as a front to fund Al Shabaab activities.

Presiding Magistrate,  Miriam Mugure gave the Anti Terrorism Police Unit ten days investigate the matter.

In the mean time, the two suspects will remain in police custody.

The case will be heard on the 15th of May.
